About Us
The Royal Oak is a beautiful pub in the stunning village of Holmbury St. Mary. It dates back centuries and has a wonderful history, retaining many original features.
Holmbury St. Mary gained international fame when it was reported that the cottage in the Hollywood film “The Holiday” was based on one in Holmbury. It is a very popular destination for walkers and cyclists. We’re fortunate to have fantastic walks with spectacular views and amazing cycling trails right on our doorstep.
The pub was taken over in February 2023 by local residents. They have set about making numerous improvements in a bid to create one of the best pubs in Surrey. The Royal Oak now offers the finest craft beers, great quality wines and exceptional food at good value prices.
